Key WordsWhat do Old Catholics stand for? Here are five characteristics that describe us as sisters and brothers of the Old Catholic Communion.

FAQ Old Catholic? ... Doesn't sound like an open, open-minded and reform-oriented church, admittedly. Because when you think of “old”, most people immediately think of “extremely conservative”, “reactionary” or “out of date”. Old Catholic views are anything but that.

We BelieveAs a Christian body of faith, our faith in the crucified and risen Christ and our union with the triune God are at the heart of being in communion. We have our own accents, which often hark back to the faith of the undivided Church. Old Catholic faith is not cast in concrete and leaves a lot of room for its own interpretations.

"We are committed to welcoming all to the Eucharistic table,
particularly the poor, the disenfranchised, the marginalized, the displaced,
and those that find themselves spiritually homeless."

Liturgy and SacramentsWe Celebrate
The Old Catholic Communion sees itself primarily as a liturgical-celebrating communion of communities. What and how do we celebrate? We celebrate the first day of the week. On that day called "Sunday," which often called the "Day of the Lord," we come together to do what Christ Jesus has instructed his followers to do.

Synods: let's WalK TogetherWe Gather
We are an episcopal-synodal gathering of faith communities, in which the gift and voice of each person is esteemed as a gift of the Holy Spirit to our Communion. Each voice is separate but interdependent to the others. We are less than that which we are called to be without the voices of laity, clergy, and bishop. It's our way together on the road of faith and life.

Our Communities and MinistryBe the Change
The Old Catholic Communion currently is woven together with fourteen communities of faith gathered around a bishop in three dioceses throughout the United States. Our Old Catholic communities are places where faith is communicated and charity is seen with doors and hearts wide open to whomever knocks in search of support or help. We warmly welcome you to come and share our joy!
