ministry among us
We warmly invite your inquiry about the possibility of ordained ministry as a deacon, priest, or bishop within our Communion. We expect prospective deacons and priests to have successfully obtained an adequate theological and ecclesiastical education and pastoral formation. We do not make a distinction with gender, sexual identity or state of life when admitting a person to ordination as a deacon, priest, or bishop. The clergy of the Old Catholic Communion therefore form a colorful collage, with very diverse backgrounds, thus representing the pluralism of our society and our multicolored Communion within it.
Clergy are called, affirmed and ordained for ministry within a specific local church/diocese. To begin a conversation about your discernment of ordained ministry, we encourage you to directly contact the bishop of the diocese nearest your location.
Diocese of the Northeast ~ Bishop Michael Scalzi, OSB
Diocese of the Midwest ~ Bishop Marty Shanahan
Diocese of the Southeast ~ Bishop Steven Rosczewski, OC
